The Off Canvass program was laun ched at D EN Furniture + Design Fair in May with TJ Guzzardi, a Melbourne sign painte r. To pay tribute to this ri ch history and the revival of traditional trades, Taubmans has laun ched a new campaign named Off Canvas that blurs the lines between art and trade to celebrate the craftspeople of toda y. He decided to es tablish his own paint business, supplying himself with the highest quality paints needed for his trade. In the late 1 890s, George Henry Taubman, a Sydney sign write r, was dis satisfied with the quality of paints available in the Australian market. Overall, a comprehensive and functional fande ck has been a chieved that includes a well-considered and user-friendly palette brimming with classics and directional colours. George, a Sydney sign write r, decided to create his own paint brand in 1 901 to supply himself with the highest quality of paints needed for his trade. “ The Painter” depicts an image of a sign painter in Stephen’s signature colour blo cking style and was inspired by Taubmans’ founde r, George Taubman. Taubmans commissioned muralist Stephen Baker to create artwork for a limited edition Colour Galaxy Fande ck bag to celebrate the history of the brand. It was imperative that this new pa c kaging was as inspiring as it was functional to ensure it will become a go-to colour tool for design professionals. The embossed bla ck cover features a magnetic closure, making it both comfor table to use and easy to work with. The innovation continues through to the pa c kaging of the Colour Galaxy Fande ck. The leaves that feature whites have darker shades in the centre of ea ch leaf layout, whi ch acts as a handy guide to the nuances of the colours on either side of it. Some of the new colours in the Taubmans rangeĮvery leaf in the Colour Galaxy Fande ck displays seven generous colour swat ches. The second section of the Colour Galaxy Fande ck, the Spectrum Collection, includes both muted and clear palettes of fan tastic accent colours that capture both short term and long-term global colour trends. Taubmans is renowned for their well-considered whites and neutrals and this newly designed Colour Galaxy Fande ck brings a robust selection of these colours to the front of the de ck, making the colours easily accessible and the selection process mu ch simpler for specifiers. In the first section, “ Whites, Neutrals and Mineral Tones ”, you will find some old favourites plus new directional shades. The new Colour Galaxy Fande ck features 1 505 hand-selected shades divided into two main sections. “Australian designers are increasingly inspiring their clients to make bold choices in paint ,” said Head of Marketing – Trade, Trevor Lowde r, “so we’ve designed new fande ck whi ch clearly presents both the classics and trend driven colours. It has been 15 years since Taubmans released a new fande ck, and after extensive market resear ch into how design professionals use their de cks, the Colour Galaxy Fande ck was created to support the online Colour Galax y.
